One Hour a Week That Could Become Their Favorite Part of the Week

After-School Enrichment at Spark Academy is a semester-based program where kids get to dive into something they love — or discover something they didn't know they'd love. Each semester features a rotating program: it might be a theater production, a cooking series, a game club, a Lego building challenge, or a music and art experience. The program changes, but the format stays the same: one hour, every Tuesday, for twelve weeks.

This isn't homework help. It's not tutoring. It's the kind of hands-on, creative, collaborative learning that gives children the chance to build skills their regular school day may not touch — confidence on stage, problem-solving in the kitchen, teamwork around a game board, or the pride of finishing a project they built from scratch.

Open to everyone.

Public school, private school, homeschool — any child in the age range is welcome. Some of our Discovery Station homeschool students stay for After-School Enrichment on the same Tuesday, making it a seamless afternoon of enrichment and connection.

This Semester's Featured Program

Spring 2026

“Off to Oz”

This semester, After-School Enrichment students are putting on a play. “Off to Oz” is a student-produced theatrical performance based on The Wizard of Oz. Over twelve weeks, children are learning lines, building sets, rehearsing scenes, and preparing for a live performance in May 2026.

It's not just theater. It's public speaking, collaboration, creative problem-solving, memorization, and the sheer thrill of stepping onto a stage and telling a story. For many of these kids, it will be their first time performing — and it's happening in a small, supportive environment where every child has a real role.

Questions About After-School Enrichment

What ages can participate?

After-School Enrichment is designed for school-age children, generally ages 5–11 and up. The specific age range may vary slightly depending on the semester's program. Register here or send us a question for details on the current offering.

Is this only for Spark Academy students?

No. After-School Enrichment is open to all children — public school, private school, and homeschool. Your child does not need to be enrolled in any other Spark program to participate.

What time does the program run?

Every Tuesday from 4:00 to 5:00 PM, for twelve weeks per semester.

Do programs change each semester?

Yes. Each semester features a different program — it could be theater, cooking, art, games, or something else entirely. Register here to get started, or ask us a question to find out what's running right now and what's coming next.

Is there a performance or showcase at the end?

It depends on the program. Theater semesters include a live performance. Other programs may feature a showcase, exhibit, or culminating project. We'll let you know what to expect when you register.

Can my homeschool child attend Discovery Station and After-School Enrichment on the same day?

Yes. Discovery Station classes run on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, and After-School Enrichment starts at 4:00 PM on Tuesdays. Some families do exactly this — their child attends Discovery Station classes and stays for the after-school program. It makes Tuesday a full afternoon of enrichment and connection.
